To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether projected savings arising from the closure of Dungavel immigration removal centre and its replacement with a new short-term holding facility are dependent on receipt of a capital return from the sale of Dungavel House.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many detainees were held overnight in police cells as part of journeys to or from Dungavel immigration removal centre due to Dungavel's remoteness from an airport; on how many nights police cells were used; and what the cost was to the Home Office of those nights in each year from 2010.

Robert Goodwill The Minister for Immigration

The plans for the new short term holding facility near Glasgow airport are not dependent on a capital return from the sale of Dungavel House immigration removal centre.

I am sorry but we do not hold the information requested on the use of police cells centrally and providing it would incur disproportionate cost.
